Le peintre portoricain Enoc Perez emploie souvent un style lâche et abstrait, donnant à son travail une qualité d'esquisse. «C'est une question d'attraction, d'attirance pour ce que je vais peindre», déclare-t-il. Né en 1967 à San Juan, Porto Rico, Perez a développé un intérêt pour la peinture à l'âge de huit ans. Il a obtenu un BFA du Pratt Institute et un MFA du Hunter College, tous deux à New York. Tout en vivant dans la ville, il a étudié l’architecture de Midtown Manhattan et a créé des peintures représentant plusieurs des monuments les plus emblématiques de la ville.
