Pinchon, Robert Antoine

Le peintre français Robert Antoine Pinchon, artiste postimpressionniste, naît le 1er juillet 1886 à Rouen. Précoce, il expose sa première toile à l’âge de 14 ans dans la vitrine de Ch. Dejonghe et Ch. Dumont, marchands de couleurs fines à Rouen. Il étudie au Lycee Pierre Corneille. La peinture du jeune artiste est remarquée par le journaliste G. Dubosc. Son talent et l’appui de ses parents lui permettent d’obtenir le soutien du collectionneur François Depeaux et ainsi d’intégrer les cours de Philippe Zacharie à l’Ecole des Beaux-Arts de Rouen en 1902. Il décède le 9 janvier 1943 à Bois-Guillaume en France.

The French painter Robert Antoine Pinchon was born on July 1, 1886 in Rouen. A precocious artist, he exhibited his first painting at the age of 14 in the window of Ch. Dejonghe and Ch. Dumont, merchants of fine colors in Rouen. He studied at Lycee Pierre Corneille. The young artist's painting is noticed and appreciated by journalist G. Dubosc. The young boy's talent and the support of his parents enabled him to meet and obtain the support of the collector François Depeaux and thus to integrate Philippe Zacharie's lessons at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Rouen in 1902. Artist Post-Impressionist of the second school of Rouen, he died on January 9, 1943 in Bois-Guillaume in France.
