Le peintre britannique Robert Bevan nait le 5 août 1865 à Hove. Il étudie à la Westminster School of Art, puis à l’atelier Julian à Paris. Il peint à l'huile, à l'aquarelle et est graveur. Vers 1890, à Pont Aven, il rencontre Gauguin. En 1897, il épouse l'artiste polonaise Stanislawa de Karlowska. Sa 1ère exposition a lieu à la Galerie Baillie en 1905. Il expose à l'Allied Artists Association et avec le Fitzroy Street Group. Membre du cercle Sickert, il est un des fondateurs du Camden Town Group et du London Group. Il a un don pour la conception picturale. Il peint à la manière de Pissarro et Gauguin. Ses chevaux ont un grand succès On a dit: «Il était l'un des peintres les plus anglais de son temps». Il décède le 8 juillet 1925 à Londres.

The British painter Robert Bevan was born on August 5, 1865 in Hove. He studied at the Westminster School of Art, then at the Atelier Julian in Paris.
