Le peintre russe Youri Ivanovitch Pimenov
nait en 1903 en Russie. Il devient peintre, graphiste et scénographe de théâtre. Ses sujets de peinture sont les portraits, la figure, le paysage, le genre, la nature morte et la propagande soviétique. De 1920 à 1925, il étudie à la Faculté d'impression des ateliers d'art et de technologie de toute la Russie dans les classes de S.V. Malyutin et V.A. Favorsky.
Il est un membre fondateur de la Society of Easel Painters en 1925. Lorsque la Société s'est dissoute, il rejoint le groupe Izobrigada. Entre 1945-1972, il enseigne la peinture à la faculté des beaux-arts du All Union Cinematography Institute. Artiste populaire de l'URSS, il est membre à part entière de l'Académie des arts de l'URSS et lauréat des prix Lénine et d'État de l'URSS. Il décède en Russie en 1977.

Russian painter Yuri Ivanovich Pimenov
was born in 1903 in Russia. He became a painter, graphic designer and theater scenographer. His painting subjects are portraits, figure, landscape, genre, still life and Soviet propaganda. From 1920 to 1925 he studied at the Printing Faculty of Art and Technology Workshops all over Russia in the classes of S.V. Malyutin and V.A. Favorsky. He was a founding member of the Society of Easel Painters in 1925. When the Society dissolved, he joined the Izobrigada group. Between 1945-1972, he taught painting at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the All Union Cinematography Institute. A popular artist of the USSR, he is a full member of the Academy of Arts of the USSR and laureate of the Lenin and State Prizes of the USSR. He died in Russia in 1977.
