Serebriakoff, Alexandre

Le peintre russe ALEXANDRE SEREBRIAKOFF nait en 1907 à Neskuchnoe en Ukraine. Sa mère, issue d'une célèbre famille d’artistes, épouse Boris Serebriakoff et devient l'un des peintres les plus éminents. La situation de la famille change avec la révolution de 1917. En 1919, Boris est emprisonné, décède en captivité et laisse Zinaida avec 4 enfants. En 1924, elle entreprend un projet à Paris et y reste avec 2 de ses 4 enfants, Ekaterina et Alexandre y restera pour le reste de sa vie. Artiste autodidacte, il adopte la tradition du "World of Art" et produit des intérieurs réalistes. Illustrateur de livres et de magazines, il devient célèbre en tant que peintre d'intérieur des hôtels particuliers de Paris, des chambres du Ritz et de l'appartement parisien du duc et de la duchesse de Windsor... Sa sœur Catherine collabore avec lui cependant, sa signature n'apparaît pas sur les œuvres d'art. Il meurt en 1994.

The Russian painter ALEXANDRE SEREBRIAKOFF was born in 1907 in Neskuchnoe in Ukraine. His mother, from a famous family of artists, married Boris Serebriakoff and became an eminent painter. The family's situation changed with the 1917 revolution. In 1919, Boris was imprisoned, died in captivity and left Zinaida with 4 children. In 1924, she undertakes a project in Paris and stays there with 2 of her 4 children, Ekaterina and Alexandre will stay in Paris for the rest of his life. Self-taught artist, he adopts the tradition of "World of Art" and produces realistic interiors. Illustrator of books and magazines, he becomes famous as an interior painter of Paris mansions, the rooms of the Ritz and the Parisian apartment of the Duke and Duchess of Windsor ... His sister Catherine collaborated with him on many projects, however, her signature does not appear on works of art. He died in 1994.
